Quick answer
- Most PH car insurance is priced per year. Some insurers and banks publish installment or 0% credit card plans for comprehensive premiums, as listed on their pages.
- BPI's FlexipayZero page (checked 7 November 2026) lists up to 12 months at 0% with qualified BPI Credit Cards for BPI MS Insurance, subject to approval, with a PHP 3,000 minimum.
- Dividing an annual premium by 12 is only a budgeting figure. It is not an installment plan unless the insurer or bank agrees to that schedule in writing.
Most PH car insurance is still priced per year. Some insurers and banks do publish installment, hulugan or 0% credit card plans for comprehensive premiums, as listed on their own pages, while CTPL at many retail sellers stays a one-time pay. Kung maghuhulog ka, hingiin mo muna ang total at ang written schedule.

Yearly price vs hulugan
Dividing an annual premium by 12 only helps you budget. It does not mean the insurer will take monthly payments. Without a real installment arrangement, that figure is not your schedule.
Start with how much car insurance costs, then ask for the total over the year and compare it with the cash price. A smaller monthly payment can help with timing. Ang tanong pa rin: magkano ang total?
Ask how many payments there are and when each is due. Check whether the plan comes from the insurer, a credit card bank or your auto loan channel. Terms from one channel should not be treated as terms for every purchase from that insurer.
What the Insurance Code says about premiums
Section 77 of the Insurance Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 10607, says an insurer is entitled to the premium once the insured property is exposed to the insured risk. Its general rule is that a policy is valid and binding only when the premium has been paid.
The same section includes exceptions for life or industrial life policies where a grace period applies, and a credit extension under broker and agency agreements with duly licensed intermediaries, limited to 90 days from policy issuance.
That is not a blanket promise that every car owner can pay later. Get written confirmation that an installment or credit arrangement exists, plus when cover starts. Your own monthly budget calculation cannot stand in for that agreement.
Malayan AutoMaster: published terms depend on the channel
Malayan's homepage listed 0% monthly installments using BPI or HSBC credit cards on 7 November 2026. The AutoMaster product page itself did not spell out installment month counts on that date.
The three or six month terms came from a BusinessWorld report dated 25 March 2026, citing Malayan's statement. It described installment payments for AutoMaster car insurance and Home Protect, splitting annual premiums into three or six months without interest or financing fees, through participating credit card partners and website purchases. The report said full protection begins once the installment plan is approved.
Malayan's own terms make a binding contract conditional on successfully charging the nominated card and receiving the applicable premium, either in one payment or in installments where permitted. Confirm the payment result and coverage start in writing.
There is also a separate RCBC channel for auto loan borrowers. Its Malayan FAQ lists RCBC credit card payments over 3, 6 or 12 months at zero interest, alongside Automatic Debit Arrangement, bills payment and postdated checks. Those terms belong to that channel. Do not assume they apply to every AutoMaster purchase.
BPI MS FlexipayZero
As listed on BPI's FlexipayZero page on 7 November 2026, qualified BPI Credit Cards can be used for up to 12 months at 0% with BPI MS Insurance. The minimum single-receipt purchase is PHP 3,000. Terms may apply to select items only, and every installment transaction is subject to BPI approval.
The participating cards published on that page are:
- BPI Amore Cashback Card
- BPI Amore Platinum Cashback Card
- BPI Corporate Card
- BPI Edge Card
- BPI Gold Rewards Card
- Petron BPI Card
- BPI Platinum Rewards Card
- BPI Rewards Card
- BPI Signature Card
For new and existing customers, the published process uses Express Protect. You provide the required details and documents, choose Credit Card Installment, then download the electronic policy once payment is confirmed.
Early termination has a published fee. Before the first billing, BPI lists PHP 550 plus 2% of the principal. After the first billing, it lists PHP 550.
The page text we fetched did not show a promo end date. Recheck the page and confirm the term for your transaction. "Up to 12 months" does not mean every purchase gets that term, and 0% does not remove the published early termination fee.
Oona: payment frequency is published, exact month counts need confirmation
Oona's payment page showed a "Worry-free installment options" heading on 7 November 2026. Its FAQ for Comprehensive Auto Insurance says monthly, quarterly and annual plans are available to fit personal or business cash flow.
A separate online car insurance payment answer lists credit or debit cards, GCash and Maya, bank transfers, and Bills Payment. That answer does not give installment month counts for private cars.
Readable text on Oona's payment page did not give exact installment month counts as of 7 November 2026. Ask for the schedule and total for your quote instead of assuming a 3, 6 or 12 month plan. A listed e-wallet or card alone does not prove you can split the premium through it.
Standard Insurance: installment language without standing numbers
Standard Insurance's homepage listed an Installment Plan section on 7 November 2026, saying payments could be spread over time through flexible installment options. We could not confirm month counts or interest rates on that homepage as of that date.
Standard also ran a LinkedIn promotion for 21 to 28 February 2026 only. That short window advertised 0% installments for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months on car, travel, home or business insurance, with premiums starting at P7,000. The window had already ended by this guide's review date. Treat it as a dated promo, not a standing offer.
For a current quote, request the available payment term, any rate or fee and the total amount payable. The homepage confirms installment options are mentioned. It does not give enough numbers to calculate your monthly payment.
Channels that list one-time pay or no installment schedule
A listed payment facility tells you how money can be sent. It may say nothing about splitting the bill.
| Channel | Published payment information | Installment finding |
|---|---|---|
| GCash GInsure vehicle insurance | Listed products are marked One-Time Pay (for example Kwik comprehensive at P2,628.05 for 1 year as listed, with a note that the premium varies by car value; Car Protect at P6,700; CTPL for cars at P560) | No installment option stated on that page as of 7 November 2026 |
| FPG Insurance FAQ | Web payment facility and BDO bills payment, online or over the counter, using the billing statement's bill number | No installment plan found on that page |
| Paramount / M Lhuillier | No clear published car insurance installment schedule found on the pages checked | Month counts, rates and payment amounts unconfirmed |
For Paramount / M Lhuillier, we could not confirm installment figures on the pages checked as of 7 November 2026. That does not prove no other sales channel ever offers them. It means there is no confirmed schedule here to use for your budget.
GCash's one-time payment labels should not be rewritten as monthly plans. Keep the published payment basis attached to the product you are looking at.
CTPL and installments
Our cost guide records the official private car CTPL rate of P560 for one year under IMC 4-2006, and retail sellers often show CTPL as a one-time payment. Comprehensive insurance is where installment arrangements usually appear.
Read comprehensive vs CTPL before comparing payment schedules. A split payment arrangement does not tell you which type of insurance the quote contains.
Ask whether CTPL is included in the quote or paid separately, and whether its end date matches your LTO registration. For the price context in Filipino, see Magkano ang insurance ng sasakyan?.
Do not assume a comprehensive installment plan also splits a separate CTPL payment. Have the written schedule identify which premium it covers.
Financed cars and bank channels
For a financed car, ask the bank holding the chattel mortgage what it requires. Your bank's insurance payment channel needs to be checked alongside the insurer's general website terms.
RCBC's Malayan FAQ is specifically for RCBC auto loan borrowers. The page describes Malayan handling yearly insurance updates for those borrowers from 1 January 2023.
For monthly installment premiums, it lists RCBC Automatic Debit Arrangement, over-the-counter bills payment at RCBC branches, and RCBC Mobile or Online Banking bills payment. It also lists postdated checks payable to Malayan Insurance Co., Inc. The RCBC credit card option is 3, 6 or 12 months at zero interest.
If your quote uses automatic debit or postdated checks, ask how insurance payments sit alongside your loan amortization schedule. Get the premium amount and due dates clearly identified. Do not treat the presence of an auto loan as confirmation that insurance has already been paid.
Questions to ask before you agree
Kaya ba sa kinsenas? Work that out from the written schedule and total, with the payment dates in front of you.
- Total and cash price: What is the total amount payable under installments, and what is the price for a single payment?
- Interest and fees: What interest, financing fees or other charges apply to this exact transaction?
- Coverage start: When does cover begin, and what confirms that the payment arrangement has been approved?
- Missed payment: What happens if a card charge fails, an automatic debit does not go through or a check bounces?
- CTPL dates: Is CTPL included, and does it end on the same date as your LTO registration?
- Early termination: What fee applies if you end the installment arrangement early?
Keep the quote, schedule and payment confirmation together. If an answer is missing, ask for it before treating the arrangement as settled.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pay car insurance monthly in the Philippines?
Some insurers and bank channels publish monthly or installment options for comprehensive insurance. Availability depends on the channel and its terms. Get a written schedule and total. Dividing the annual premium by 12 does not create a monthly payment plan.
Does 0% mean there are no possible fees?
Check the specific terms. BPI MS FlexipayZero lists 0% installments but also publishes early termination fees. Before the first billing, the fee is PHP 550 plus 2% of principal. After the first billing, it is PHP 550.
Magkano ang hulog ng car insurance?
It depends on your quote and the approved payment schedule. Ask for the annual premium, number of payments and total payable. Do not use an annual price divided by 12 unless the insurer or bank has actually agreed to that schedule.
Does Oona publish 3, 6 or 12 month private car terms?
We could not confirm those exact month counts from the Philippine pages we checked as of 7 November 2026. Oona's Comprehensive Auto Insurance FAQ lists monthly, quarterly and annual plans. Request the schedule for your own quote.
Can I split my CTPL payment too?
Do not assume so. CTPL is often collected in one payment, and GCash's listed CTPL products use one-time payment labels. A comprehensive installment arrangement does not establish a separate CTPL installment schedule. Ask which premium the written payment plan covers.
